Welcome to the Humber Rural Partnership Home Page

The Humber Rural Partnership was one of four sub-regional rural partnerships in Yorkshire and the Humber.  It is led by East Riding of Yorkshire Council.  The Partnership delivered the successful Humber Rural Pathfinder Delivery Programme (2005-2009).

The Partnership acted as a rural "voice" for the Hull and Humber Ports City Region.  In 2009 it produced a Rural Strategy for the City Region, and started to take forward a range of activity aimed at implementing the strategy's key aims and objectives.

Due to recent structural and policy changes The Humber Rural Partnership Board will cease to operate from 31 March 2012.

The last meeting of the of the Humber Rural Partnership took place on 9th March 2012.  The meeting was an opportunity to review the Board's achievements and legacy, and consider how best to take forward rural development in new local and sub-national contexts in the future.

Ivan Annibal was a guest speaker at this final meeting. With a national reputation in rural development, and providing Rural Services Network's weekly "Hinterland - Rural intelligence from behind the headlines" bulletin.  He gave members a personal perspective on what the near and medium term future is likely to hold for rural development and rural communities in England.

Ivan's perspective, combined with a robust review of the Humber Rural Partnership's legacy, provided considerable food for thought, and provided valuable insights for the future as rural development moves into new sub-national contexts.
